I liked December because across the board it seemed like it was pretty socially acceptable to stay in pajamas all day every day. I do that most months out of the year, so it was nice to be a united front with the rest of America.
I am so in love with this little boy I think my soul is going to explode.
I love this opportunity to explore childhood again. I always thought being a kid would be the most fun & most magical time of my life, but I was wrong – being a mama is!
Watching your kid experience new things, learn, and grow…ugh…there’s nothing like it. My heart is so full.
Christmas might be over, but I’m not over these pictures. I sat him in his highchair and said, “boo” to him & this is what I got 😉 I love that about Locke. He’s just a happy kid. It doesn’t take much to get that big smile & belly laugh out of him.
He is a wild boy and he’s growing so fast. My heart is torn between being so sad that he’s growing and being so proud of all he’s learning. I think that’s going to be my new normal though.
Every morning I bring Locke with me to let the dogs outside. We watch them for a few minutes from the front door and he smooshes his face against the window to see them. I asked Caleb to hold him while I stepped outside to get a few pictures.
His thumb sucking slays me.
Caleb and I both had to work on Christmas, so we celebrated a few days early. It’s ridiculous because Locke didn’t have any idea what we were doing, but it was just so much fun to do Christmas with him.
I never want to forget these mornings with him. We read books and play on the floor with his toys. He does this thing now where he crawls away and plays with toys but every few minutes he crawls back to me and climbs into my lap to just sit and suck his thumb. And then my heart explodes into a million trillion pieces.
He loves the book, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?” I can tell because it’s the only book he actually looks at with me and doesn’t try to eat 😉
I like to set up my camera on the bookshelf sometimes and I use my shutter remote to capture some of these moments. These pictures are so special to me. I am in love with these quiet mornings of just he and I. He is such a special boy.
Fawkes (my horse) was such a special part of my pregnancy. He was such a sweet friend to me. I love the way he is so gentle with Locke now.
This was Locke’s first snow experience 😀
